Ok guys as you know clanUk is now a very small guild in Wow and as such the officers of the guild have been talking to SPS and they are happy to take all of us into there guild all as trialists (there ethos of playing is the same as clanUK)and we really cant see anyway forward for high end game playing

they are happy to take all lvls of players but do want peoples mains in guild

ClanUK will not die as several officers are leaving toons in guild to keep guild tag alive

SelfPreservationSociety have many ex ClanUK members from other games. They are a much larger guild 28 peeps on tonight and run alot more guild nights. Tonight there was a Blackrock Spire raid and a Scholomance group.

Personally i think this is a great oppurtunity for the guild, to give us some experience of the end game content.

In an ideal world we would all like to stay in the guild but more and more of the organised instances are struggling to get enough people, so personally i don't think we have much option but to join up with a bigger guild. As far as we know SPS will take any people who want to swap guilds and there are no silly minimum levels or such rules.

If anyone has any questions or worries about switching just ask any of officers either here or online.

The only real concern i have is... im more of a casual player have real life commitments and cant make every event... how will this effect my trial in sps?

We have been told that SPS isn't the type of guild which forces people from joining in raids etc, far from it, if u have little free time or are not ready for raids/instances yet, then no problem.

well iam voting yes, as much as it pains me to leave cuk, ive always been in cuk since the days on UO, and ive always worked hard to keep cuk guilds going, But the simple truth is that clanUK has no longer enough members to do justice to them. we lack the numbers of people to run leveling groups meaning those who are not yet 60 are pretty much on there own till they get to 60. Once they get to 60 there not much we can do. on a average night we can get enough to do a 5 man inst. on a really good night we can just about do a 10 man, we no hope of ever doing a inst higher that a 10 man that means your choices are level a alts or leaving to do the higher end content with another guild, sadly people have been selecting the later, leaving the guild to join others. It has now got to the point that if we want to stay together as a group we need to look at joining a bigger group or simply drift away.

To this end we looking at joining self preservation society (SPS), for those that don’t know who SpS are (and this is very basic info on them ill leave it to a sps member to give more detail) there were a group that was formed in EQ from UK(what was in effect the eq clanuk guild) so they share a LOT of the idea of clanuk and have a v similar playing style to clanuk

Now NO ONE is being forced to move if you don’t want to move to SPS you welcome to stay with in CUK or move to a guild of your choice, you know that you are on my friends list and that I will all ways try to help you as I can.

Some of the reasons why I think joining a SPS will be good,
We be joining a larger player base of different lvl’s this means that those who are not yet 60 should have a easier time in getting groups to help in questing and leveling,
Those that are 60 can start to see some of the high end content that blizzard have added and that CuK has no hope of getting to do
Hopefully we get a more active /g chat again, with more people there more people to have light hearted fun banter with (slagging off)
We all get to meet and build new friendships

Aye sounds like a fair move in the current climate, and to keep interest longer term, some poor orificer going to have sore fingers inviting all these alts over though eh? :)

Can we have a linky to the SPS boards please?

Hello People of CUK
Im Renerie, a Raid Leader for SPS. Just to set a few of u at ease, u are not required to attend any raids, far from it. i would much rather have people with me on raids who want to be there because they will play much better, rather than peeps who feel they have to be there or they fail there trial (which is not the case). because if u are here because u feel pressured into it u will not play at ur best, slowly start to hate the guild, and the game, and thats not what SPS are about.

If u decide to join us, u will get no end of chatter in /G (u cant shut us up!! lol) lots of resources to call from, as in people for help/groups of all lvls.
we are a friendly, very relaxed, family guild, and u do what u want when u want. After all its ur game, u pay for it, were not gonna dictate to u how to play it.

If u have any questions feel free to contact me ingame, or post here and i will check back. I hope to see u all soon.

I won't vote on this, as my character on the Alliance side is just a cash cow. But under no circumstances do I wish that character to leave ClanUK.

Good luck to all those characters who do leave and keep well.

As Btone said noone is being made to do anything. The Guild will remain active and anyone wishing to remain can do.

Voted yes. I think at the end of the day its a game and after you get to 60, being in a guild thats not very active can mean that game pretty much ends unless you do pugs.

Its a shame but a neccesity.

For those who voted no. I think we have some members who are new to MMO's and may feel a bit swamped and out of place amongst a larger guild of more experienced players? Also, some of our lot I think enjoy the banter of the guildchat on the scale it currently is. What I would suggest for people who are not keen is that we can set up a ClanUK channel for those who will be moving over which will maybe make the transition of some members not to keen a bit easier. This means that they can still chat amongst themselves if they want without using the SPS /gc.

One point. Is class an issue? It would seem not as Renerie says things are pretty casual but does SPS have an abundance of certain classes and is this an issue?

Ok as some of you will know i have recently returned to WoW in the past week or so and currently have a fairly low level character (17!!).

I would love to be able to get it to a high enough level to do some of the better content but I have so far been finding it difficult to get together any form of group to do some of the low end elite stuff.

I therefore would welcome the opportunity to get tohether with a larger guild if this means I can level quicker.
