Yeah well i don't see Chelsea and Real Madrid willing to pay huge sums to land Carrager and i'm guessing they know alittle as well ;)
I'm sure Gerrard lost alot of Fans over the past few weeks from Liverpool probably explains why Carrager won really, had the poll been taken before that transfer rumours and the result would be different.

Edit : I see Alonso did really well, lol.

Stupid is as stupid does
We're talking about last season, not in general. Clubs don't put a transfer price based on one season do they? No.

However, this topic is based on last season. Not 02/03 or 03/04 but, yes you guessed it, LAST season. That'll be 04/05 FYI.

Oh in that case then, it's Gerrard.

Amusingly I notice only 2 of new managers signing made the top 10 - which must be alittle worrying for the fans.

Not worrying at all mate. He's told two of them to find new clubs and they both missed half a season with broken bones. Ruthless as fekk. A lot of managers would be talking about needing to settle in to justify buying them. Benitez tells them they arent good enough and they are off. To be fair, Josemi was superb in his first few months, but he is from one of the hotest parts of Spain and cant hack the weather. Nunez was all we could get out of Real as a make weight in the 'protracted' (three days) Owen negotiations.

Expect his signings this year to perform much better, though Alonso and Garcia were very good signings.

The official site is a load of bollocks tbh. Mostly young kids and people from all over the world that dont actually go to the match and believe the media tripe.

As far as Gerrard, we did better in the games without him than with him last term.

I agree Aggeh mate, if he goes there will be no ill feeling from me. He has been a wonderful player for us.

I wasn't convinced he turned down Real to stay with us. I think there were problems with the deal that led to him staying. I think the situation just needs sorting permanently and he either goes, or commits for life.

He still has a few years left in him but he did look to have issues last season, not necceserily fitness or form but in his head. His heart didn't look in it a lot of the time.

Mourinho? Wanker. :D

This is the same Carragher who John Terry said was the best defender in the Premiership last season and voted for him as such in the players player of the season, incidentally, as did a lot of the top defenders

At least Jessica is nice to look at :D

The best thing about football press is reading the match report after watching a game and seeing just how much bollocks they make up :p

Think I would have to have three Gooners as best players to grace the Premiership. Bergkamp by a country mile ahead of anyone else. Henry and Vieira in 2 and 3, that cnut Keane at 4 and Cech at 5. Fowler could have been up there but he liked his Charlie and boozing too much.

THAT hat trick from Robbie. Sublime :)

I'd put Zola ahead of Bergkamp.

Edit : Thought i'd done a double post somehow there, hehe.

I wouldn't put him ahead, Dennis has done it longer and can still mix it with the best. Zola was special though.

Further to comments made by Chelsea Manager Jose Mourinho yesterday, The Football Association today issued the following statement:

"The FA is extremely disappointed with the comments made by Jose Mourinho to the media yesterday.

"At a time when the football authorities are collectively striving to improve behaviour at all levels of the game, some of those views expressed by Mourinho are unnecessary, unhelpful, bad for the image of the game and inaccurate.

"The Arsenal Vice-Chairman David Dein is one of four members of The FA Board representing the FA Premier League. The four Premier League representatives are elected by the 20 member Premier League clubs (including Chelsea) to represent their views within The FA.

"We would like to state categorically that Mr Dein does not have any involvement within The FAs Disciplinary or Compliance functions. It should also be made clear that he is not a member of The FAs Disciplinary Committee.

"Therefore, Mr Dein does not have any input into any decisions to charge individuals or clubs with breaches of FA rules, nor in any judgement or punishment administered by a Disciplinary Commission.

"If any club or official has any comment or complaint to make about the role of any individual within the game, there are channels available to do this through clubs to the football authorities not by individuals in a press conference.

"The FA is currently studying the comments made by Mr Mourinho."

Dein did vote that Everton should get in the Champs League ahead of Everton, even though it meant a huge financial win for Arsenal (the way the waiting of Revenues is calculated meant Liverpool as Champions would have got by far the most, follwed by the Chavs, Arse and finally the Mancs.)

That wouldnt be controversial on its own if a page hadnt existed on the FAs web site until about three or four weeks ago. It was from the 03/04 season and said that if Arsenal or Chelsea won the Champions League, but didnt qualify through the League, they would go in as Champs instead of the fourth placed team. I kid you not.

In about 5 mins wasn't it? :)

I'll always remember that goal by Bergy against Newcastle where he flipped the ball one way past Dabizaz I think it was and went around him the other way. Best Arsenal goal ever and one of the best goals ever.

He is such a muppet that Morinho. Great coach, total arse of a bloke.

You've got to have the Champs in the following year though haven't you? Pointless otherwise. Cept 'Pool of course. :D
