One of the least amusing things about it was that he was in the runing for the England job instead of Stevie boy. Both did not a lot with average sides, certainly not the credentials needed for the England job (neither is it what is needed to rescue a team staring down the barrel of relegation, should've stuck with Pards IMO as the change hasn't helped at all).

I think it would be harsh to blame curbs when hammers do go down. He came into a club where it was know there was problems with the players attitudes and moral. While moral can be lifted and should have with beating Man Utd, attitudes is down to the players. Curbs will have to change the side massively next season and bring in some players (11) who give a fuck tbh.

I don't know why Chairman never learn - all you need to do is look at the statistics of how often changing the manager is a successful option and then make your decision based on that (which is irrefutably in the favour of sticking with the incumbent).

I suspect the Eastenders were looking for a reaction like what happened at Portsmouth last season. Unfortunantly Redknapp and Curbisley managements styles are completely different. Redknapp is instantly dynamic able to manipulate the transfer market to get the right players for the current situation. Whereas Curbs is more studied and in it for the long run, creating the club (not just the team) around him and his methods. Personally I think Curbs if allowed will be able to shape West Ham into a decent side but it'll take time to get his style across. His attempts too make an instant impact has really been awful the 18million he's spent have been on complete crap - can you really see Charlton Curbs signing a complete greedy waste of space like Lucas Neill? or the inconsistant Boa Morte. No, these are panic buys by a manager not used to having to do this kind of thing.

Anyway West Ham going down is hardly a loss to the Prem, most of their 'fans' will be at the Emirates next season no doubt

The youth policy there produced JCole, Fat Frank & Carrick, it would be a loss IMHO. There aren't that many clubs bringing on young English talent.
