West Ham going down?

sorry but i don't know a single west ham fan that would dare go to arsenal,

Git Meet :ky:

"Anyway West Ham going down is hardly a loss to the Prem"
The youth policy there produced JCole, Fat Frank & Carrick, it would be a loss IMHO. There aren't that many clubs bringing on young English talent.

Can't really see what that has to do with the Prem? does their youth program suddenly dry up if they drop into the championship somehow? It's not they can keep hold of these players anyway. Both Villa and Middlebourgh have been playing more English yoof products than Chav Ham in this last couple of seasons anyway :p I can only think of Anton of the current Eastenders squad whose come from there youth system and he's obvisously really in love with the team from the way he's playing ;)

If they go down they'll probably be forced to sell some of there higher earners and then they'll have to play some more yoof players anyway!

Well what a week to be a Gooner.

I thought we deserved what we got from both games.

We played some of the best football I've seen against Chelsea in the first half but I agree with Mourinho when he said his team are winners whatever the performance they put out. They are to a certain extent a one man team at the mo when you look at the important goals Drogba has scored. We just didn't have a Drogba but I guess its all about the winning.

Same with Blackburn last night. Outplayed them for large parts of the game but with the squad decimated by the red cards at the weekend and injuries we just had no one to convert one of the hatful of chances we had.

Hopefully the team will take their frustrations out on PSV although with Henry and RvP out players like Aliadiere and the Beast (or The Tart as I like to call him) better find their shooting boots sharpish.

West Hams next five games are Spurs, Blackburn, Boro, Arsenal and Cheslea. Be lucky to take 4 points from that.

I agree chelsea are nothing if you take out Drogba along with bit players like Cech, Terry, Carvalho, Essien and Lampard. Shock at striker scoring important goals for the team he plays for.

Chelsea are not imo going to catch Man Utd this season so i would like to state now that we are going through a transition period. Phew Jose job is safe now as he has an excuse for under performing! :p

I stand corrected. They took 6 points from the last two games, against Blackburn and Boro and were unlucky to lose to Spurs.

3 Massive games for them now though - Arsenal this Saturday, then Sheff Utd and then Chelsea. They have to get something from the Arsenal and Chelsea games - their last game of the season is against the Mancs.

Conversely, LFC have the easiest last seven games I can remember, ever, but nothing to play for. Mascherano has been brilliant since we signed him btw.

With any luck they'll take 3 from Chelsea and the last game of the season may be of no consequence for Man U with them too busy parading silverware:D

But they were real lucky against Blackburn and Boro were awful, but I suppose those results could start a run. But lets hope not.

They could well beat Arsenal who don't even look interested now they have nothing to play for.

Arsenal have a huge game left against Bolton, who are five points behind them.

Apart from that they (Arsenal) still have 'local' games against W Ham, Spurs, Fulham and Chelsea.

I'd put money on Arsenal coming third or fourth, but if they lose at Bolton it'll go to the last weekend.

We've got a game in hand and five points on Bolton which should be enough. Arsene has indicated that he knows the team may think that the season is over but he knows its not so I would imagine he'll let them know that in no uncertain terms.

I'm not too worried at the moment as all we seemed to lack on Saturday was some leadership with Henry and Gilberto out. The scoreline flattered Liverpool a little bit and I don't expect us to defend as we did again especially as our first choice back four are fit. We hit the woodwork twice and I think the chances from both teams were pretty even.

If we don't take 4 points from our next two games then I'll start the nail biting.

Baptitsta though jesus. Either those youtube videos of him playing like Superman are fake or he has the biggest confidence crisis I've ever seen.

I don't think think Arsenal have to much to fear about losing 4th spot, but ever since they had their horror period of going out of all the cups there looking somewhat unmotivated. If West Ham are up for it like they should be they could quite easily take a lackluster Arsenal. Depends if Wenger can rally the team after a couple of woeful displays against the merseyside teams.
Something I noticed about Arsenal this season they aren't scoring goals from Midfield, Pires and Reyes (both capable scorers) haven't really been replaced. Gilberto got a few eariler on and takes the penalties but other than that I doubt any of the others have hit more than 3.

Stupid is as stupid does
You can paper over the cracks all you like at Arsenal but as I said a while ago, they need to buy some experience in certain positions and until they get that, they'll win nothing.

West Ham winning the last two is nothing but a tease. They are capable of going on a run but quite frankly, too little, too late. Tossers. They'll probably win the Sheffield United one, just to make it even closer but still go down by 1 point or something.

Mark Noble is the only player recently that can take any credit. Another good youngster who clearly loves the club and puts himself about 100% every game. He should have been playing a lot earlier in the season.

Yeah thats a big problem which is weird when Rossi and Hleb are such cultured lively players. Its the first full season for them though and they've had a fair bit of injury but no excuses next season. They should both be getting double figures really.

Freddie's injuries have also effected us in that area.

Is that Baptista/Reyes perminant? or just a loan deal, I don't think Reyes wants to comeback but swapping him for Baptista wouldn't be a good idea as he looks awful.

Hleb, like Rosicky, isn't nearly at his best as a wide player. At Stuttgart and Dortmund they were the fulcrum of the whole team, both terrific playmakers. They are both great no 10's but Wenger seems determined to play them out wide.

I think only Djimi Traore could veer from genius to comedy more than Baptista.

I agree, Gilberto was massively missed on Saturday.

What about a bit of credit to Mascherano though ? I've never seen anyone else mark Fabregas out of a game - he was almost non-existant.

Aye mate Machy had a great game and that was maybe Crouch's best performance for Liverpool.

With Fab in the team they have no chance of playing there. I think Hleb has the makings of a wide player but not sure about Rosi. Rosi should be covering Fab I guess so he can have a break now and again. I'm hoping we get Frankie in the summer as we miss that dynamic Freddie type player.

What did you think of Diaby? So strikingly similar to Vieira its frightening but still a bit too nice for that position.

I'd hope we send Bap back either way Janie tbh. I know some players take some time to adjust but for a man of his size and reputation he's pushed off of the ball so easily and even with time he just dosen't look upto it.

Reyes has been dropped by the current Real manager hasn't he? Either way I can't seen him coming back.

Actually, there was a thread started over on one of the LFC forums about him - what a monster he is. Again, why play him out wide. To accomodate the overrated Denilson ?

Have to tell you though that Eboue is not popular at all outside of your club. far too fond of throwing his elbows about.

As for Ribery, I'm hoping we will be in for him.

Todays papers running very similar stories, all knowing Rafa met with the owners to discuss transfers yesterday. Regurgitated old stories, I'm afraid.

Alves remains our #1 target, the papers have us still chasing Eto'o, Villa and Bent but no-one but Rafa knows if those are still targets.

we are very solid in defence and CM now, especially with the bargain buy of Arebeloa in Jan. I'd like to see us get Huntelaar, Alves and Ribery.

Be interesting seeing him playing at away at Portsmouth when the Pompey Chimes start sounding. I suspect he may fall to the floor, hands on ears moaning 'The Bells, The Bells'.
