Monday is Guild Night

I suppose we can have a talk about the pace, but so far I'm quite happy with it. We seem to have moved from helping others catch up to playing a "static" group - like a LAN night.

I kind of like the static group idea. Once the group catches up with Mari Dreamblade, I'll be switching though. I miss 'er :)

Another fun Monday Night...thanks to Ritter showing up, anyway, otherwise I think we were a bit stuck :)

I enjoyed playing the E tonight (though it's always fun to bully low level mobs with AoEs!)

It was lucky you showed up when you did. Summer and Rhyn, our Californians, didn't show, so we didn't really want to do the next mission.

I don't think they read these boards, so yes I think a clan announcement in game about Mondays probably will help. I expect they just forgot. They are still playing AFAICT.

Well Ritter, you are only two missions behind the group now. My fourth alt (what am I like?!!) needs to do that mission at Nolani as well, so maybe we'll do that together in the week. That will get you to Yak's Bend, which is a major waypoint in the game, because you can then have teams of 6 (or 5 mercs). There are some easy to do class specific quests there for new skills as well.

My third alt needs to do the mission from there to the Frost Gate, which is where the Monday night team is. So in terms of missions you are not far behind at all. With a large pinch of luck we might even have SIX people together next Monday night. Yay!

I have to say, that was a storming romp through the first three missions last night. I doubt it's possible to be much faster AND get the bonuses. We have done them a few times though, haven't we ;)

My two lowest are milling around the Frost Gate, so if you need a extra team member, give us a shout. Not in the cuk guild, so stick Alice Greenwinter (me/wa) or Althorn Darkbow (Ra/Ne) on your friends list :)

Yay to my total recall of the first three missions.

I reckon we could have done a movie like QDQ it was so fast.

Impressive recall. I reckon you could even find your way around Coventry city centre. (I could never be entirely confident myself, even after two years!)

I seem to have a nose for the Piken Square to Grendich Courthouse run, which is useful as all the high XP PS quests are much better started from GC and you tend to get better PUGs there.

Monday Night movies. Now there's an idea. I have a spare VCR here, and in theory it's possible with this graphics card. Not tried it though. I even bought a headset for use with Teamspeak, but decided to not try to get it working (looks like I need to use the onboard sound card if I don't want to be switching cables) until my job-searching has borne results. PCs have a habit of going tits up when they are indispensible, and I didn't want to tempt fate :-O

Reminder: Tomorrow night 7PM

There could conceivably be SEVEN of us, if everyone shows!

I'm not making rules here, but just to get moving asap at the time, I guess we should say that:-

* we'd prefer a 2 hour session to a 4 hour session. So we'd like to get going quickly and have something major achieved within 2 hours.

* we will have decided what we're doing by 7:15, and anyone who shows after that may have to amuse themselves until we've finished our mission/quest.

* we will generally help out the lowest level main char of those present first

* we will generally do missions, but will do important side quests if it gives a character a really important skill/spell

Comments to the above more than welcome.

I soloed the Frost Gate mission sunday morning. I have now worked out the best way to achieve the bonus as well.

The bonus is you talk to a dwarf trapped in the dryder cave, and you have to lead him to a ballista so he can break open the gates for you to steal some plans, if we leave him alone until we clear the path up to the ballista, he shouldn't get wasted on the way round, as there are a whole bunch of Dolyak and axe-wielders and crushers on the way to the ballista site, cos once he dead, I can't raise him...and he doesn't show up on the "allies" portion of the party window, which makes it REALLY difficult to keep track of his health bar.

Also, have figured out how to trigger the bonus for "The Gates of Kryta" too. Man that little piggy is one tough mother. (all shall become clear)

Gates of Kryta is mean. So are we only 2 from Lions Arse then? That's encouraging.

So long since I took Mari through, I've lost track!

That's good going Taz. Monkey Dust never managed the bonus at the Frost Gate.

I tried the mission with Dark Swan on Sunday and failed right at the end on the third lever. Too many Dolyaks :( Also didn't get the bonus. As you say I must have allowed the dwarf to be killed.

Thanks for another successful night :)

We have quite a few joining now, with some fellas from SPS coming on board.

I got stuck doing a really silly quest (out of sheer stubborness) after we quit missioning. It was out of Beetleton in the jungle and appeared to involve slaying about 1000 undead simultaneously. Ended up zerging it after a few ill-fated bot-aided attempts. Got there in the end, though at one point there were so many undead minions (from our corpses) that I had to run round the corner and wait for them all to die before suiciding for a party rez.

Oh I remember that one with Monkey Dust!
For a short while I thought it might be a good XP farming point (there are SO many undead) but that proves not to be the case. After about 3 wipes in the final phase I did it with a pick up group.

With a fast killing group, it would be OK, as they come in waves.

The problem I have with waved attacks with bots is that I do feck all damage (Me/R) so fights are slower - hence I just ended up with 50,000 mobs. This is compounded once you start zerging by the necro undead creating pets from your corpses. Still, it kept me amused. Kind of reminds me of PlanetSide. There's something quite mesmerising about zerging. It's so utterly brainless (which explains why I was quite proud of my idea of legging it round the corner and waiting for all their pets to die).

Getting a pick up would have made too much sense, I think.

I expect Megan could do it with bots. She piles through stuff solo that would take Mari ages to pick her way through. But I like Mari better. She's very flexible in support of a good party. Just does booger all damage!

What will the start point be on Monday?

Steve Brickman having got to 'The Wilds' has caused me to put a private spurt on with Wossname just so I don't have to use Monkey Dust (my main lvl 20 char) again.

He is ready to do the mission at 'The Wilds' now.
(And has done a few surrounding quets.)

Depends who shows up, tbh.

The aim of "lowest common mission" is nice, but is negotiable.

Is it worth starting a guild hall fund now? Last time I checked, sigils were up to 70k :(

Of course, my involvement depends on what I do about my monitor. I've been toying with a big reorg of lounge (kick the "office" out of it and replace it with a "dining area") - that would imply an LCD TV capable of being a reasonable games monitor (all I use the PC for now).

I may just hardwire the monitor power for now (bypass the front power switch, which is the broken part). Means unplugging it at the back to turn it off, but that's not a serious hardship for a month or 2.

I think it VERY much depends on who is about between 7-7:15PM
If we split into 2 groups, then so be it. We'll HAVE TO for low level stuff anyway.

Lol. I only have about 8K ATM.
I have spent SO much on armour/runes for my 3 alts and about 4 or 5 other players.

But I'm happy to hand that ALL over.
If we need a character to hold it all, I have a rarely played Alt called 'Inland Revenue' who would be happy to hold on to it for the good of the Guild

I played with a monitor with no red gun for ooooh maybe 6 months ;)
I am very happy with my iiyama CRT now though.

hehe too perfect.

OK, if people can give what they can to Inland Revenue (the odd spare K here and there, say), then we'll see what we can scrape together. Actually, if you want to make a thread about the *cough* tax, I'll Sticky it. We can see progress as the guild hall fund builds then.

I'll hand over some on Monday (if I sort out the monitor!)

I think playing on the tv will do my head in. I can bypass the power switch on the monitor. Assuming that stops the discharges (aka fooking big sparks!) it'll do for now.

It's Monday again.

No idea what we will be doing. Depends who shows.
Any new players who are post-searing and would like a hand, make yourselves known by 7:15 and we will help you through some early missions.

Otherwise, last week we officially got up to Divinity Coast last week.
Although me and Taz did that this morning ;)
In which case Druids Overlook area would be next.

Basically, pitch your case by 7:15 (low levels generally get priority) or show up later and get peoples attention when they have finished the current quest/mission.
