Is WotLK Too Easy.

i still think the whole background to the new instances is stupid...
but the first boss encounter in the 25man ToC is actually a lot of fun.
spent all night wiping on it, then finally got icemaw down on what wouldve been our last try anyway :)

i'd say its worth doing the raid - only 1 boss in there, so once you can kill it it wont take long and you can get off to Ulduar on the same night. and the loot it drops is amazing :p (or well, it is when it drops a tank shield, a tank chest, and the tier token goes to a tank as well.... we had a good night that night :p)

Time Lost Protodrake

Out of curiosity, has anyone here got the time lost protodrake?
Been hunting for days now and still not even seen a corpse of it let alone had the chance to hunt it down.

timelostprotodrake

Lots of stuff on Thott and WoW head, but seems random to me.

Oh saw and killed this rare in the same area, Skoll so they may well be on the same random timer.

you fight a few, dunno if its all but i think so
first a magmataur with some snobolds. once thats dead you have to fight not one but TWO jormungar worms. and then you have to fight a big yeti thing. the real challenge is to pretend they're real bosses that would somehow be a challenge to someone that can kill titans :p

If i understand correctly:
week 1 = Northrend beasts.
week 2 = Northrend beasts then Lord Jaraxxus
week 3 = Northrend beasts then Lord Jaraxxus then Faction Champions
week 4 = Northrend beasts then Lord Jaraxxus then Faction Champions then Twin Val'kyr
and finally
Week5: Northrend beasts then Lord Jaraxxus then Faction Champions then Twin Val'kyr then Anub'arak. Once you have killed them all, i believe the Hardmodes are unlocked.

Each boss drops a token which, with 40-50 badges you can convert to a Middle-tier(25) or low-tier(10) armour item of your choice.
Hardmodes will drop higher level tokens (10-hc = 25 normal)
End bosses will probably drop higher level stuff.

It's a weird, but fun setup in my opinion. It'll never take more than a night to celar the normal mode, leaving the rest of the raid week free for Ulduar HM / ColHC.

That sounds like the reverse of an old scout song: "Oh sir Galahad do not touch me"

How does the mechanic work to stop you at a certain point and in effect impose the 5 week delay ? Is it just one dungeon with 4 doors ? The tokens sound like a good step forward though, only took them about 3 years to listen to what alot of people said :)

It's a Colluseum. Doors open. Mobs Come In.
No Mobs to come in, doors don't open. Players get bored and leave :)
btw. Shared armour Tokens have been in the game since Tier3 / Naxxaramas40 which was about 2006. They are changing around the way they work though. I dislike these "any class any slot" tokens though, they take the repeatability out of content where you can essentially set a rotation roster for all token drops and have everyone fairly and evenly geared in 29 weeks.
RNG is a pain in the ass, but it adds some excitement to farming content. Will those fucking bracers ever fucking drop off flame leviathan? No, will they fuck.

They have been in, but sounded less limited now, that said I do totally understand why they do limit them, if someone who raided every night for a month or two ended up with all the best gear pretty quick you'd lose that playerbase because they would have no reason to still play.

Colluseum is an interesting idea, much easier and more accessable and you can easily add to it just by copying the area to another door that opens, hardcore raiders would be happy there for a fair while if the loot was good enough

no they wouldnt, they want interesting instances as much as anyone else does. an instance where you stand there and a pinata gets dangled in for you to get loot out of every 10 minutes gets boring fast.

Hence why I said Zeus the loot would have to be good enough, I know of plenty of raiders who would live in a place like that to get what they wanted, the same way people would spend weeks camping certain spawns to get a part for a good item they had set there mind on.

You seem to be under several misapprehensions here as usual. It's less accessible than Naxxramas and Ulduar as, while there is no attunement any more, you need better gear. Walk into there in Quest greens and you will get kerbstomped unlike Naxxramas. It's 'Tier9' Content. It's harder than Tier8 not Easier.

The first set of bosses is probably around XT / Kologarn / Iron Assembly Difficulty.

Last time I logged in I joined a Naxx 25 Pug - after finally getting together enough people who weren't saved (grr). We head into the construct quarter first (always a mistake) and wiped on the slimes, then some people got though to Patchwerks area while others were still stuck behind the respawning slimes, which causes problems as Locks start summoning and other try and run though....after about 30 minutes of fail (and numerous 'leaders' shouting at each other) people start quitting, we never even got one try at Patchwerk, haha.

LoL Awesome. I love pugs, though i couldn't eat a whole one :)
What i intended there is, it's possible to take people through naxxramas to gear them up relatively quickly as the lack of "uber gear" won't be much of a liability. The raid damage flyig around in both ulduar and Colosseum will shred a undergeared player.
Maybe.

So it is just really for hardcore raiders ? well I was right later on that it'll keep hardcore raiders busy as long as the loot was good enough :)
